Here's a nice place to get started: https://www.lotuseaters.com/the-universal-acid-of-liberalism-20-09-22 Its clarifies a lot of the intuitions I've been feeling about the modern world, but lacked the verbiage or clarity to put into words. But Wokeness is the end result of the Liberal project. It's the placement of "autonomy" above the natural reality of being social beings in a hierarchy. If we apply it to media, we'd have the desire to be free from the decades-old story that built up a world (Legend of Korra obliterating the past Avatars). It's the desire to be free from the smallest unit of society: the family (via focus on "found family" in media). It's the desire to free identities essential to people and assuming it as transferable (Marvel TV Show She-Hulk). Since "Woke" is already part of the vernacular, around 80% of the works that have been levelled such accusation of being woke are likely accurate in some aspect, if not outright correct. But it pays to think about why the accusation exists in the first place. Baldur's Gate 3 has aspects that are woke, but it's still a very competent RPG. I won't be the one to tell you which is which. It's a journey you have to take yourself. The Lotus Eaters Podcast is a good place to start, as do youtubers like Metatron, MentisWave, and Zoomer Historian. But the moment you step out of the sea that comprises Liberalism, you'll soon find yourself parched for air, seeing the brokeness that characterizes much of the world for decades now. And how you come out of this realization is a better test of Woke's presence in your life.
